Sea of clouds at Mount Kurahi

Mount Raihi, towering over the town of Kinosaki, is a 567m high mountain that is popular as a hiking spot to enjoy wild birds and plants.

You can see the sea of clouds here in the early morning from mid-October to late November. A magnificent sea of clouds covers the Toyooka Basin, which can be seen from the summit. The waves of mist quietly crash against the mountains and slowly flow towards the Sea of Japan.
Many tourists and locals flock here to capture the sight on camera.

The sight of the sea of clouds reflecting the light as the sun rises is truly fantastic.

Conditions for the occurrence of a sea of clouds
- Early morning on a sunny day.
- Morning temperatures are low and maximum temperatures are high.
- High humidity and sufficient radiation

*Sunrise is around 6:30am (around November).
