Takenohama, located about a 15-minute drive from Kinosaki Onsen, is a popular swimming beach in the summer. Takenohama is a shallow beach. Shallow means that the water is shallow from the sand to the far end. Takeno Coast (Kirihama and Aoihama), including Takenohama, is part of the San'in Coast National Park and the San'in Coast Geopark. 

The water is incredibly clear and has been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches and 100 Best Swimming Beaches. 
As the name suggests, Aoihama Wanwan Beach is a beach where not only people but also pets can swim together. 
In recent years, a variety of marine play equipment has been developed that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.
